This one had a pretty specific cause. A carpenter bee treatment left chemical residue behind on the exterior glass, and over time it created that cloudy, spotted look that no amount of wiping from the inside is going to fix. The spotting had settled into the glass and dulled the whole surface.

A home like this one - with its tower windows, multiple stacked panes, large sliding glass doors, and garage door glass - has a lot of surface area to cover. That means a lot of spots to miss if you're not being thorough. We worked through each section of exterior glass and the screens, making sure we weren't just moving the haze around but actually lifting it.

Chemical water spotting is a different animal than regular dirt or grime. Standard cleaning won't cut it. It takes the right products and the right technique to pull those mineral deposits off the glass without scratching the surface. We also detailed the window tracks while we were at it - those channels collect debris and pollen fast, and dirty tracks can work against even a freshly cleaned window.

The result is glass that actually does what it's supposed to do - let the view in. A lake home is built around the view, and spotted, hazed-over windows get in the way of that every single day. Clear glass just makes the whole space feel different.

If your windows took on some spotting after a pest treatment, a pressure wash, or just time, it's not permanent. That kind of buildup can be dealt with - you just need the right approach to clear it up without damaging what's underneath.
